Like the Medicom 1 and Medicom 4, this collaboration between Nike SB and the Japanese toy company was only available in limited quantities on the Medicom website. The Nike Dunk Low SB Medicom 3 features Medicom’s branding printed on the insole and embossed on the outer rear of the shoe and comes with grey and white sb laces and a special dustbag.
I feel like black jeans or pants are a must with these. The 3M really stands out with that particular combination. Besides that, I’d roll with a grey or white top to complete the look.
Few SB’s keep it this attention-getting, with the 3M reflective upper and chrome swoosh constantly on bling. The 3M does tend to chip and crease over time. It also scuffs very easily. The swoosh itself appears to be either patent or some other kind of plasticky leather. Overall the materials don’t hold up well unless, like me, you rarely wear them. Even just laying in the box can cause some issues so make sure you’re at least moving these around if you’re not wearing them a lot.
These were a grail for me, as at one point I was trying to complete the Medicom set! While I never came up on a pair of Medi 2s for a decent price, I hung onto these as the shoe is amazing and extra special due to the materials and rarity.
How Do They Fit?
Of course, these Nike Dunk Low SB Medicom 3 are a little stiff thanks to the 3M, but they still surpass current SB’s in terms of comfort! I would go true to size or a half size up for maximum comfort. I recommend lacing the front laceholes a little looser to give these some room and prevent creasing somewhat.
